SPECIAL NOTES

  • Bowl practice schedule: The practice schedule has been revised as of Dec. 8. The Rams will practice this Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 10-11) at 12:30 p.m., then will work out Tuesday (Dec. 13), Friday (Dec. 16), and Saturday (Dec. 17) to conclude bowl practices in Fort Collins. Due to fall semester final examinations the weekday workouts are tentatively set for 12 p.m. (but subject to change). CSU's team travel party leaves Sunday, Dec. 18 for San Diego, and will workout at San Diego State's facilities Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 19-20), then stage a walk-through at Qualcomm Stadium the day before the game (Dec. 21). The final workout is closed to the public and the media.
  • Officials have announced a donation program for fans who cannot make the trip but wish to donate towards the bowl fundraising efforts. When purchasing tickets through CSU, simply inform them that you want your tickets to be donated and the tickets will be sent through the Poinsettia Bowl officials to be distributed to underpriveleged kids and military (not Navy). With a $750,000 bowl payout, CSU will very likely lose money on the event.) It is imperative for Ram fans to buy their tickets through CSU. Use the link or phone number listed above to find out more.
  • Students traveling to the bowl game can take advantage of a $10 discount on tickets for a limited time. Click here for details.
  • In a change from previous years, the athletic department announced that the school's entire marching band, dance team, and members of the spirit squad will be traveling to San Diego. The 200-plus-member marching band will perform during pregame and halftime activities and also earlier in the week at SeaWorld, as well as aboard the USS Midway during the bowl luncheon for both teams (Dec. 21).
  • The team will be headquartered at the Marina Marriott during its bowl stay. CSU will stage bowl site workouts at San Diego State University prior to the game.
  • Team events in San Diego will include a trip to the San Diego Zoo or Sea World, and a luncheon for both teams aboard the USS Midway. School officials will also announce finalized plans for a pep rally at the team hotel and pregame tailgate gathering at the stadium.
