Signed a letter of intent February 1. Prior to committing to CSU, Massey was receiving interest from TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Kansas, and Texas.

Westlake high school is a perennial powerhouse, which produced San Diego Chargers quarterback Drew Brees (Class of 1997). Massey missed the first three games of the 2005 year due to having his knee scoped prior to the season, but still collected 68 tackles (8 for a loss) and six sacks, and caused and recovered a fumble, garnering him first-team all-district honors. He also recently was named first-team 5A All-District and first-team All-Central Texas (as a DE)
