Colorado State’s prospects from the state of Texas showed up well this past weekend. Running back commit Davon Riddick of Abilene Cooper High School rushed for over 200 yards on 27 carries in a 35-31 victory over Austin Westlake. The complete game has been posted online if you are interested in watching at THIS LINK, or to watch the news highlights from the game, visit the KTXS site.
Tommey Morris of Odessa Permian also scored three touchdowns in a victory over Bethel High School, a top 3A Washington program. Morris had a 40-yard run, and two catches for scores. He finished with 4 catches for 85 yards. His team's highlights can be seen on the KWES site.
Quarterback commitment Conner Smith threw a 83-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to give Travis High School a 10-3 victory over Foster High School. Smith finished going 9-for-19 for 163 yards on the night. In Travis' season opener a week ago, Smith went 16-for-22 for 131 yards in a loss to Klein Collins High School a week ago.
While the Texas prospects did well, it was Kapri Bibbs from Illinois with the best night. Bibbs rushed for 338 yards for Plainfield North in a 49-24 win over Grant High School. Bibbs scored six touchdowns on the night, although he only played one series in the second half.
Kicker Keenan Adams probably had the roughest weekend of all the future Rams. On a second quarter punt, Adams was roughed after punting and looked to sustain a serious leg injury to his left leg. Adams got carted off the field, but after some medical evaluation, it turns out that it was only a deep tissue bruise and he may only miss one week.
