Meet Anchorage tight end Cory Macon, one of CSU's latest commitments | December 15, 2005
Colorado State has a terrific athlete in Kory Sperry whose has become an impact player on offense. This fact has not been lost on Ram coaches, and they have taken a step to ensure that when Sperry graduates CSU in a couple of years, the team won’t be left empty handed. That step was securing the commitment of an athlete from Alaska named Cordell (Cory) Macon. more

Sonny Lubick has hinted that quarterback is not a position of great priority this recruiting class, and it appears that Colorado State will only host three quarterbacks for official visits this year. David Anderson will be leaving Colorado State as the top receiver in school history. Filling his shoes next season won’t be an easy task, but talented players like Johnny Walker, Dustin Osborn, George Hill, Luke Roberts, and Damon Morton will still make nice targets. As noted by the young talent already establishing themselves as impact players on the field, CSU didn’t have to put a huge focus on recruiting receivers last season. But, you should expect a few prospects to be signed this year. The first such player to commit to CSU is Montrose High School (Class 4A) athlete Tyler Rawlings. more

Rams get verbal from Green Mountain defensive end Pauga | October 12, 2005
When Colorado State coaches extended a scholarship offer this summer to Green Mountain High School (Lakewood, Colo.) defensive end Zac Pauga, they did so based on his stellar junior season, in which he recorded 65 tackles and nine sacks and was the only junior defensive player to be named Class 4A all-state. Pauga is repeating the feat so far during his senior season (eight sacks in six games), validating the coaching staff's early interest. He recently rewarded the CSU staff for extending that early scholarship offer, and has verbally committed to play for the Rams next season. more

2006 prospect to watch: Center John Anest, Ponderosa H.S. (Parker, Colo.) | September 16, 2005
When current CSU freshman quarterback Grant Stucker led Ponderosa High School (Parker, Colo.) to the 5A state championship in 2003 it was John Anest (6-1, 278 lb) snapping him the ball. As a three-year starter, Anest has emerged as the top center prospect in the state and is already racking up a list of impressive accolades. He's a prime prospect on the Rams' list. more

Colorado State managed to find some solid players this year despite the uphill battle facing Sonny Lubick following only his second losing season at Colorado-State. CSU paid a lot of attention to a tremendously deep in-state prep talent pool.
