The Mountain West All-Conference Volleyball awards as selected by the league's nine head coaches were announced today in conjunction with the Mountain West Conference Volleyball Championship in Las Vegas, Nev. The quarterfinal round begins tomorrow, Thursday, November 22, and runs through Saturday, November 24, at Cox Pavilion on the UNLV campus.

CSU comes back to nip Portland State and win the BP Top of the World Classic

Stuart Creason put the Rams ahead after they had trailed for 39 minutes and 45 seconds, earning MVP honors in the process, as the Colorado State men's basketball team won the BP Top of the World Classic tournament, 64-63, Sunday over Portland State. Marcus Walker earned all-tournament honors as well.

Marcus Walker scored the most points by a Ram in 34 years and set a tournament record with 41 points as he and the Colorado State Rams men's basketball team advanced to the championship game at the BP Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks, Alaska. Freshman Andre McFarland added 11 points as the Rams shot 65 percent from the field. CSU will play for the championship at 6 p.m. (AKT) Sunday.

Rams pick up second win of season beating GSU 42-34

Gartrell Johnson ran for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass, leading Colorado State to a 42-34 victory over Georgia Southern Saturday. Johnson finished with 136 yards on the ground. Caleb Hanie completed 13-of-16 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns, and Damon Morton caught four passes for 100 yards and a score for Colorado State (2-9).

Rams whip Oregon State 69-56 in Fairbanks, Alaska tourney for first official win under Coach Miles

Just a few days after losing by 36 points at Montana in new Colorado State coach Tim Miles' regular-season debut, the Rams traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska for the BP Top of the World Classic and beat up Pac-10 foe Oregon State 69-56 in the opening round of the tournament. It's the first official win for Miles as the Rams' head coach, and his team advances in the winner's bracket to play Tennessee State at noon Alaska Time (2 p.m. MT) Saturday. Willis Gardner led the Rams with 20 points against the Beavers, while Stuart Creason added 17 and collected 17 rebounds.

CSU athletics secures two major donations worth $ 1.75M for new facilities

Colorado State University’s athletics department has secured two major gifts to launch its facility enhancement campaign, the school announced Wednesday. Brett and Danette Anderson have provided a $ 1.5 million gift to assist with the construction of the Academic and Training Center, while Markley Motors, Inc., also made a significant campaign gift of $ 250,000 toward construction of the Indoor Practice Facility.
