CSU athletic department implements Ram Point System; New structure will not affect current season-ticket seat locations

In order to create a fair, equitable and consistent incentive-based system for all donors, the Colorado State athletic department, the Ram Club and its Board of Directors on Wednesday introduced the Ram Point System. The system, which will not impact current season-ticket seat locations at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium and Moby Arena, will reward the commitment and loyalty of a supporter’s investment in CSU Athletics. It enables the athletic department to establish a fair and transparent system underlying all decisions related to seating and parking benefits for home and away contests, CSU’s annual football game with in-state rival Colorado at Invesco Field in Denver, and postseason events such as bowl games and NCAA tournaments.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. Colorado State stunned the sixth-ranked Washington Huskies 25-16, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19 Friday night at Moby Arena to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Volleyball tournament. The Rams had the home court advantage at Moby Arena in front of 2,750 fans and put Washington in a 2-0 hole for the first time all year.

Colorado State's John Mosure ran for a career-high 177 yards and two touchdowns and Nick Oppenneer returned an interception 97 yards to give the Rams (3-8, 0-7 Mountain West ) a 27-23 fourth-quarter lead. But the Rams found a way to lose their eighth straight, falling to previously winless New Mexico 29-27 Saturday evening in Albuquerque, NM.

The Colorado State volleyball team (23-4, 15-1 MWC) capped its outstanding run to the 2009 Mountain West Championship in thrilling fashion Saturday, picking up a 3-2 victory over the UNLV Rebels in front of 2,062 fans on hand at Moby Arena to help the Rams celebrate their seventh MWC regular-season title.
