Colorado State University today announced that John C. “Jack” Graham, a successful business leader and former Rams quarterback, will be the university’s new athletic director. He replaces Paul Kowalczyk, who was removed after CSU President Tony Frank decided to make a change in athletics leadership.

Colorado State came back from a 21-13 deficit at Utah State, scoring on a one-yard run by Chris Nwoke with 42 seconds left and making the two-point conversion to force overtime at 21-21. Both team traded a pair of touchdowns in overtime, and the Rams' stuffed two 2-point conversion attempts after the first was flagged for pass interference. The Rams' celebrated a 35-34 road win and improved to 3-1 on the season. Click for game recap, notes, and photo gallery.

Moments after Chris Nwoke blasted in for a 4-yard touchdown on the game’s final drive, the Green team stuck with what was working. M.J. McPeek fed Nwoke again, this time around the right end for the game-winning two-point conversion, giving Green an exciting 15-14 win over its gold counterparts at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.

Safety Ivory Herd patiently watched Mike Orakpo jar the ball from Scott Carter’s hands in the left flat near the sideline, then swooped in and snagged the ball out of mid-air and returned it 67 yards for a touchdown. The play inspired the CSU defense to a 44-28 victory over the offense at Saturday’s practice, the first of three major spring scrimmages, at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.

Tim Miles and the CSU men’s basketball team will have a bonus game Tuesday when they host Fairfield in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament, the NIT selection committee announced Sunday night. The game tips off at 7 p.m. MDT and will be televised on ESPN3.
