Rams on national TV tonight with bout vs. rival Pokes
|
February 25, 2006
Colorado State (14-12, 3-10 Mountain West Conference) and Wyoming (12-14, 5-8) square off at 8 p.m. MST in Laramie for a rare national telecast on ESPN2. The Rams will be looking for revenge after dropping a home game to the Pokes 72-67 back in January. It is Wyoming's final home game of the season, and the Cowboys are attempting to improve their home record to 4-4 on the season -- their worst mark in several years. The Rams likely need to win their final three games to have a shot at avoiding the play-in game in the Mountain West Conference Championship.

CSU athletic director job apparently not worth the headaches
|
February 9, 2006
The reaction to Wednesday’s news that Mark Driscoll was resigning as Colorado State’s athletic director varied greatly, with some people claiming it was an opportunity to get a new leader in the athletic department, and others disappointed to lose another athletic director after a very short tenure.

Rams worse than New Mexico; lose for 8th time in 9 games
|
February 8, 2006
First, the New Mexico Lobos administered the dose of sodium pentothal in the first half as they successfully removed all energy from Moby Arena with their methodical play. Next they delivered a dose of Pancuronium bromide in the form of a pair of three-pointers by guard Mark Walters inside the final four minutes that took everyone’s breath away. And finally, they administered a lethal dose of potassium chloride as they clinically fought off any challenge Colorado State threw at them. In the end, the Lobos walked away from Moby Arena Wednesday night with an 80-78 victory.

Hoops scouting report: Rams hope to get off schneid vs. Lobos
|
February 8, 2006
It used to be that fans looked towards the New Mexico game as an opportunity to jeer Lobos coach Ritchie McKay, the former Ram coach who departed for a new job two years after taking over at CSU. But, the days of students specially designing anti-McKay T-shirts or prominent boosters spending their own money to print up a McKay-spoofed newspaper as a means of mocking McKay and his “Dream Job” departure from CSU are probably over. All fans care about at this point is getting a victory -- any victory – no matter if it’s against New Mexico, or Little Sisters of the Poor.
