President Larry Penley today named Paul Kowalczyk, athletics director at Southern Illinois University, as Colorado State University's new Director of Athletics. Kowalczyk brings to his new post more than 20 years of experience, the last six as athletic director, and a long record of success in collegiate athletic administration. He will start at Colorado State on May 17. more

Colorado State University will have to wait another day to begin spring football workouts. The Rams were scheduled to conduct the first of 15 spring workouts Saturday morning, but wet weather that arrived in the area Friday night and continued through Saturday forced veteran coach Sonny Lubick to postpone the drills. more

The Colorado State women's basketball team's dismal season concluded Wednesday night in a 65-45 pasting by BYU in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference tournament at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The Rams finish the season 9-20 overall, 2-14 in league play. BYU advances to the tournament semifinals. more

Jason Smith named first-team all-MWC | March 6, 2006
Jason Smith was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal men's basketball season, and Monday morning was named a first-team all-Mountain West Conference selection. Smith was the only Ram selected on any of the three teams, although junior Michael Harrison earned Honorable Mention. more

The Colorado State men’s basketball season has been a total disaster, with the Rams blowing an 11-2 start by losing 12 of their last 16 games and assuming ownership of eighth place in the Mountain West Conference. But the great thing in college basketball is that it provides incredible opportunities – even for a downtrodden team like the Rams. more
