I have altered my plan about the Bowl Game in light of the feed back on
the Ram Club Board:
If there is some sort of a raffle we can offer to the students after a bowl
invite, thousands of students would participate. The cost to the student
body only would be $5.00 per person. Obviously the raffle would not be
until after a invite The 5 dollars would go directly into the funds to send
them and a friend on a bowl game trip. If there is any money left over, it
would either roll over into next years bowl hopes, or it would go into the
CSU Athletics Scholarship Funds, or Doc's scholarship the decision
would be made on a vote from Ram Club members on this board.
The raffle winners would receive two of the following (so they can bring a
friend along):
- Tickets to the game
- Air fare, or bus tickets (really depends on the bowl, NM Bowl would be
a candidate for a bus.
- 2 night stay in either the team hotel, or a hotel close to the stadium.
Stay the night before the game and the night after to celebrate a CSU
victory. Again, it all depends on where the bowl is being played at, and
the time the game is at. A one night stay would be a big possibility
- 40.00 spending money of anything of their choice (20.00 for each
person)
- Transportation to DIA, and from the game and airport
It is hard to get a definite estimation as to determine the cost for all
this. My initial estimates if CSU goes to the New Mexico Bowl would be
somewhere around 500 to 600 dollars per 2 people. If 4,000 students
pitch in 5.00 for a raffle ticket, that is 2,000 dollars. Ramnation should
have a single fundraiser, and a donation jar at the ramnation tailgate. It
is another step towards making the CSU football program as big as we
want it to be. It is a baby step but a step none the less.
Again, I would NEVER want to undermine the cause for Doc's
scholarship. This is just another way, of many ways Ramnation can
contribute to Colorado State.
I would have NO PROBLEM putting this together as best as I can. I
would need help with the finances, and with ideas.
