Subject: Trees at Hughes

Message:

I have heard from friends and visitors alike that the area around
Hughes lacks visual appeal. Given that CSU now enjoys regular national
TV exposure, a scenery facelift is in order.

We all know that money is tight, so I'm not calling for much -- just
plant a few trees in the parking lot and particularly on the hill
behind the stadium (without obscuring the A, of course). Picture for a
moment ... a beautiful October afternoon game played on national TV
and the cameras span the hillside with aspen leaves glowing gold
around the A... pretty good advertising for years to come.

Students/faculty involved in the Forest and Shade Tree Lab or forestry
department might be able to coordinate with the athletic department to
help utilize resources currently in place at CSU. Perhaps this would
work as a class project broken into phases and performed over several
semesters by different students.

Just a thought.

Go Rams!
