If it's possible, I believe the athletic department should consider adding
a dollar to the bball game tickets next season. By adding a dollar to
each ticket, the athletic department should then consider giving the
season ticket holders one FREE game ticket. I would consider picking
the one FREE game to be an opponent fairly far away BECAUSE the
FREE game ticket should not only be given to the season ticket
holders but, the FREE ticket opportunity should be offered to the entire
community. I think it's important to fill Moby and by offering free tickets
to the community you have the chance of losing money in ticket sales
but you can compensate with food and beverage sales. If Moby fills and
there are close to 10,000 people on hand that gives the athletic
department a greater chance of selling more programs, popcorn, soda, t-
shirts, foam fingers, etc. I believe this would not only be beneficial to
men's basketball but for all athletic events in general *(a stepping stone
to getting fans back into the stands). The key to this actually
working...ADVERTISING!!! And not only that, I'd consider giving the
tickets to the local elementary, middle schools, and high schools.
Tickets for the employees whose company are regular "donators"
(Wendy's WellsFargo, etc.), and companies you'd like to have sponsor
the program (Hewlett Packard) should also be thought upon...I'd also
consider asking the season ticket holders what they think about adding
a dollar to each game and then giving them the free ticket to see Moby
SOLD OUT or to capacity, or whatever. Note, by adding a dollar to each
game ticket will probably keep season tickets at the same price they've
been paying but, I'm not a season ticket holder so I don't really know,
this is only a suggestion for you all to build on and work out the "kinks."
By giving the season ticket holders an idea of what you'd like to do (or
what I'd like to suggest) and by doing so in a timely fashion, the more
honest your season ticket holders may feel you are being with them
and the better chance you have with keeping them as holders for the
next season. But, "you" give them the idea, they comment...Give
people the opportunity to give the atheltic department their pro's and
con's maybe we can begin to see changes not only within the athletic
department but within the community and us RAM FANS.
