2008 Awards and Rankings: Trivia Answers

intro |  trivia |  specialty awards |  rankings |  hall of fame |  history

1. What RamNation poster introduced a certain nauseating Internet video to the RamNation boards, subsequently grossing out any daring RamNation viewer who dared to click the now-infamous link?
--Ramfucious first posted the link...and the video was called "2 girls, 1 cup" (which became known simply as 2g1c by RN users thereafter). For the love of God, we beg you not to Google it.

2. What RamNation poster got "snipped" and proceeded to give regular updates about his "clearing the tubes" count?
--bunsbuggy

3. What made-up word have bunsbuggy, Swoll Cracker and other posters used regularly to see who can register higher positioning when Googling the word?
--The made-up word is “juxsy”. And, at last check, Swoll’s post still remains on page 1 when Googling the word.

4. What local talk radio host came to the board to mend fences with RamNation posters?
--Dino Costa. Dino, who gets somewhat of an unfair bad rap by RamNationers, came to the site to clear the air after several of his supporters flooded the site at times during the year to talk about what a great radio show he had. RamNationers started suspecting the posters were actually Dino himself, and he came to insist that the posters were not him and that they were acting on their own.

5. What is BVP for Heisman 03's nickname for Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler?
--He calls him “El Busto" and probably makes at least one post per day, talking about how the Broncos's franchise is crumbling due to their selection of Jay Cutler in the NFL draft a couple of years ago.

6. What RamNationer gave regular updates on his dog's problematic anal glands?
--Appropriately, camdog was the one whose dog (“Cam the Dog”) had some issues.

7. What RamNation poster was jokingly labeled a pedophile after he replied to a bunsbuggy thread called "Ramnation Posts in the Year 2018" that in not so many words expressed affection for young actress Dakota Fanning?
--“State” was the poster who expressed the affection for Dakota Fanning in joking fashion with an accompanying image, but he didn't put his post under bunsbuggy's thread about "RamNation Posts in the Year 2018", and thus, it appeared that State was simply declaring his love for the young Dakota Fanning. He’s been a good sport about the gaffe, and has often made fun of himself about the incident.

8. RamNation posters are often merciless to fellow posters who post information that had previously been posted on the board, or info that is already common knowledge. So, when someone came to inform the board of this major NBA trade, RNers let him have it, and the term has stuck to this very day. What was the trade?
--The trade was one that involved the New Jersey Nets sending superstar Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks. Now, anytime someone posts something that has is common knowledge or that has already been posted, the typical retort is, “Kidd to Dallas”. Another popular retort is, “Penley to bring back beer to Hughes.

9. What RamNation poster has posted a famous athlete -- by number -- every day for the past couple of months counting down to the Rocky Mountain Showdown?
--Buffsin2008

10. What 80s singer has become the center of a popular Internet joke -- including major instances on RamNation -- in which fellow message board posters attempt to trick others into opening a link of this singer's music video?
--The proper term for people who have successfully been suckered into opening such a link is “Rickrolled”, and it refers to Rick Astley and his music video for “Never Gonna Give You Up”. For more on the funny phenomenon, click here.

11. These two RamNation posters have been spatting for a couple of years now, and in smart-alec fashion, one of them put "ownership" rights of the other up for auction on eBay. Who were the two feuding posters?
--Bunsbuggy and BVP for Heisman 03 have been feuding for a couple of years. BVP claims to never read Buns’ posts and never responds to them, but the two clearly don’t get along. To be funny, buns put “ownership rights” of BVP4H03 up for auction on eBay.

12. Who was the winning bidder of the above-mentioned auction?
--nateDiggsCSU was winning the bidding war when bunsbuggy pulled the listing from the site.

13. Through CSU's down period of athletics, and especially this year, several fans have stayed steadfastly optmistic that things will turn around. Those fans received what sarcastic label from the less optimistic folks?
--“SuperFans” is the common term. But, we'll also accept "Sunshine Pumpers".

14. What two posters argue on a regular basis about their opinions of Sonny Lubick?
--Chorizo da Hitman says 80sramfan is blind in his loyalty/love of Lubick. In return, 80sramfan over exaggerates Chorizo’s happiness in Lubick’s firing.

15. What poster posted a disturbing image of a guy's "package", and then apologized later, explaining he thought it was just a, well...shall we say, "fake package"?
--JoeybtheRealAD was the culprit, and we still don’t know why he thought posting a fake package would have been acceptable anyways.

16. This acronym, used by the visiting fans of Georgia Southern, caused the term to be used widely among RamNationers for months?
--"GATA" or, "Get After Their A**es!".

===================================

So how did you fare? Use the following scale to find out.

13-16=RamNation legend (you obviously spend most of your working hours perusing RamNation)

9-12=RamNation fan (you could blow off a few more work meetings to surf)

5-8=RamNation bandwagoner (definitely aren't spending enough quality time on the Nation)

0-4=Troll (you must be a Buff or Poke fan who only occasionally pops his/her head in.)
