RamNation Forums2008 Awards and Rankings: Top Posts of the YearFourth-place post of the yearWe don't hear near enough from this Hall of Fame poster, but when he posts, he's got some gems. This effort was good for our fourth-place spot. Subject: Now that we’ve got some institutional knowledge what else should the AD know?
Just in case somebody in the athletic department was not paying attention over the past few years here are a few reminders ;-)
-- If an athletic program is not growing - it’s dying. -- After 5 years on the job if a coach is not hearing overtures from other schools, it’s safe to assume you’ve got some leverage in contract negotiations. -- A losing coach from a less prestigious program will be a losing coach with your program regardless of what they tell you in the interview. -- CU coaches are the worst possible fit for CSU. These folks have been doing less with more for years. -- Don’t let a tournament run fool you into thinking you have a good coach. Remember players receive the least amount of coaching during tournaments. That should tell you all you need to know. -- Don’t let the fancy suit and glossy visuals cloud your judgment. A stupid campaign is a stupid campaign. “Let’s go rammin” was not going to age like fine wine. -- If anyone mentions “dream job” in the interview run like h*ll. |
