RamNation Forums2003 Awards and Rankings: Trivia Answers
Before we get into the important stuff, let's first whet your whistle with a little trivia to see how well you know RamNation. Some are easy, some are hard, but all can be reasonably determined by a seasoned RamNation member. Complete the 30-question quiz (you might want to write your answers on a sheet of paper, and then cross-check with our answers to see how you rank according to our scale). The answers can be found at the link below. Let's begin. 1. JoeybtheAD's favorite beverage is what? Pabst Blue Ribbon beer 2. What was Newport Coast Ram's former handle? WashParkRam 3. What Ram poster recently lambasted web host Good SHEPHERD on the message board for the way he runs the site? The Real ROBRAM ripped SHEP for deleting his post regarding former Colorado quarterback Sal Aunese who died of cancer in 1989. 4. What is the prize that 80sramfan offered for the RamNation poster who guesses the correct number of CU arrests before fall football. $50 5. What was the first gift RamNationers gave to Sonny Lubick back in 2001? A Beer of the Month Club membership. We also gave him a framed, hand-drawn sketch of himself and a panoramic photo (taken by Ram booster Tim O'Hara) of Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium. We stepped up our gift in 2002, with a weekend retreat for Sonny and wife Carol Jo at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. 6. What was the name of the very first CSU-related message board prior to the creation of RamNation.com? CSU Ramblings. It was an obscure website that could be found on the InsidetheWeb.com network. 7. What is BVP for Heisman 03's nickname for CU and its fans. The Little Island (or Little Islanders) 8. Four RamNation posters announced their "retirement" from the board during the past year. Name at least two of them. Ram_Buck, Dall Ram, 80sramfan, and NYCram…all of whom have made reappearances. 9. How does CSU Rambunctious usually conclude his posts (what words)? ---GOD BLESS--- GO RAMS! (or generally something to that effect) 10. Justin Holland's sibling posts on the board under what handle? Brother of Future 11. #11fan, named in honor of his friendship with Ram quarterback Bradlee Van Pelt, is really alumnus/diehard fan of what school? University of Colorado 12. Buffalo Bob, although a devout CU fan, attended what university? North Texas 13. The username "BluH2ObaboonFarm" is derived from what? "Blue Water Baboon Farm" is an obscure Dave Matthews Band song about death. 14. If JoeybtheAD gets mad at a poster, he'll often threaten them by saying he's got a "nice pair of…" what for them? Cement boots 15. What is the handle of the RamNation poster who collects CSU game tapes and provides a copying service to any interested Ram fan? SMARUSCOG. His website can be found here. 16. Buffsin2003 grew up in what city? Fort Collins, Colorado 17. The poster known as "Ram Grad" is what former CSU football player? Brad Svoboda, an H-back who graduated in 2002. 18. What poster serves as RamNation's resident weatherman? WyoRamFan. He hosts a RamNation feature page that gives gameday weather updates for us every weekend during football season. 19. There are several RamNation posters who attended Cherry Creek High School. Name at least two. I Bleed Green, Good SHEPHERD, RAMpart Street Parade, Rams12345, Green & Gold, Husker Hater (sorry if I forgot others) 20. sacRAMento's occupation is what? High school teacher 21. SFBayCAM graduated from CSU with a degree in what? Construction Management. This became clear when posters got into an argument earlier this year, and one claimed that Construction Management wasn't a prestigious major. SFBayCAM took exception to that comment. 22. The best month traffic-wise in RamNation history came when? August 2002. We had 20,000 unique visitors, 2.15 million hits, and nearly 1 million page views for the month. 23. RamNation's two top recruiting gurus post under what usernames? RambleOn and Tweeter. RambleOn originally held the duties of keeping our recruiting databases up to date, but after enrolling in graduate school, turned over responsibilities to Tweeter. Both still regularly provide their expertise on the message board. 24. Infamous Buff poster AmiCUs CUriae once went by the name of what? BFIO™, which stands for Buff Fan in Oklahoma. He was typically a menace under that name, but seems to have toned down his act significantly following the name change. However, he still was banned (and subsequently reinstated) on the Netbuffs.com board under the username "Buffs". For the most part, he has minded his manners on RamNation. 25. When referring to RamNation at luncheons or other events, former AD Jeff Hathaway and head football coach Sonny Lubick often mispronounce the name of this website. What do they typically mistakenly call RamNation? RamsNation. RamsNation is actually a St. Louis Rams website that sprouted up after our own RamNation domain name had been registered. Sucks for them. ;-) 26. What RamNation poster gave message board readers a play-by-play during the radio broadcast of the Pat Stryker/Bohemian Foundation donation press conference back in May? CAMotion 27. What relatively new poster includes an excerpt of "Fum's Song" in every post? BeatBoulder 28. What has been the grand prize for our RamNation Pigskin Pick'Em contest the past two years? A CSU leather jacket, furnished by RamNation sponsor Rams Bookstore. SMARUSCOG won it in 2001 and tRAMpledunderfoot won it in 2002. 29. Former AD Tim Weiser gave RamNationers what "scoop" during the RamNation/AD forum in 2001? That CSU and UCLA had inked a deal to play in the Rose Bowl in the 2002 season. Weiser had completed the deal several days prior to the forum, but waited until the forum to announce the news. Denver Post reporter Natalie Meisler stole some of our thunder when she reported the deal had been done, but did mention in her report that Weiser was waiting for the forum to publicly announce the match-up. 30. What CSU figure stopped by the RamNation tailgate party in 2002? AD Jeff Hathaway stopped by with Associate AD Neal Eskin to yuck it up with RamNationers. He took photos with several posters, and even gave a cigar to his "favorite poster" JoeyBtheAD. 24-30= RamNation legend (you obviously spend most of your working hours perusing RamNation) 16-23= RamNation fan (you could blow off a few more work meetings to surf) 8-15=RamNation bandwagoner (definitely aren’t spending enough quality time on the Nation) 0-7= Troll (you must be a Buff or Poke fan who only occasionally pops his/her head in.) |
