TetonRam is crowned our champ; lvgolfer02 and LakevilleJep take second and third place, respectively
1/7/13--With Alabama's crushing of Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship game, TetonRam cinched his own championship with a field-leading record of 23-12 for the bowl season. TetonRam got out of the gates hot with an 11-2 start, weathered a mediocre middle stretch, and then closed strong with a 10-6 run, including 7 of the last 8 to take the title. For his efforts, he wins a $100 store credit to Rams Book Store. (Winners should email us to arrange collecting your prize.)
Second and third place took a little more time to sort out. Stapleton ram, lvgolfer02, LakevilleJep, and num1rams all finished one win behind TetonRam at 22-13. So, to determine final standings we had to go to the tiebreakers. The first tiebreaker was total score in the Alabama-Notre Dame game, which was 42-14 (56 total points). Ironically, both of the closest guesses were an identical guess of 45 -- from both LakevilleJep and lvgolfer02. So, we had to use the second tiebreaker (total yards in the game), which was 831. Lvgolfer02's guess of 876 was closer than LakevilleJep's guess of 700. Thus, lvgolfer02 wins the $50 credit for second place, while LakevilleJep takes the $25 credit for third place.

The field finished with a 49.1% winning percentage. With Alabama covering the 10.5-point spread, we saw 16 favorites and 17 underdogs covering (and two pickem wins), with 12 outright wins for the underdogs. The 'dogs got off to a great start, but the favorites finished strong covering four of the last five games. It wasn't a horrible year for the field, as we've certainly seen worse last-place scores. This year's low finishers were ram it, No.1 Ram Fan, leenco29, audileedern, and 21stCentury Schitzoid Ram, who each finished at 12-23.
